Two important factors in keeping your heart healthy

A healthy heart means a healthy and happy life.
Many people are born with the precious gift of a healthy heart free from any congenital or other defects, but not all of us treasure this gift with proper maintenance. Moreover, most people do not possess the basic knowledge necessary to maintain or improve their heart’s health.
There are many different contributing factors that may affect your heart’s health; some of them you can control, while others are out of your reach. So, in this article we will take a look at two factors of your heart health and see how you can reduce your risk of heart disease by controlling them.
The first factor we are going to talk about is your blood pressure.
Many people, even at a younger age, suffer from high blood pressure or hypertension. High blood pressure is a heavy contributing risk to severe health problems such as heart attacks and strokes.
The normal level of blood pressure is 120 by 80; high blood pressure is anything that exceeds 140 by 90. As I have already mentioned, people with hypertension run high risks of having problems with their hearts. But, you can take action to monitor and maintain a good BP ratio. Thus, you can take steps for lowering your heart attack risks.
There are several things you can do to get hypertension under control. Those are a healthy diet, no smoking, regular medical screenings, and exercises. Doing cardio exercises on a regular basis is one of the most efficient things that can positively affect your heart and blood vessel health. Doctors recommend doing at least 30 minutes of low intensity cardio fitness daily for keeping your blood tension on due level.
The next heart health factor is the level of cholesterol in your blood.
Most of us know that there are two different cholesterols that can be found in our blood. Those are so called “bad” and “good” cholesterols.
High level of “bad” cholesterol is bad for your heart health, but low level of “good” cholesterol can also increase the risks of developing a heart disease.
Again, a heart healthy diet and a generally healthy life style can increase the level of the “good” cholesterol in your blood. But, medics agree that long duration and low intensity workouts, such as walking, jogging, swimming or biking are the best for improving the level of “good” cholesterol in one’s blood.
As you can see, these two factors are two important aspects of your body’s health to monitor to keep your heart healthy. You can take action to lower the risks of having a heart attack and to maintain or improve your overall heart and body’s whole health.
